The Man in the Moon
Smiles down on lovers
Looks at them with a caring eye,
Much like a father,
But why?
Am I the only one
Who sees the false joy,
Plastered on his face
And covering his real feelings?
A lot like me and
My inner thoughts,
Complicated as lace
The Man in the Moon
Looks down on couples
With a loving smile
Much like a good friend,
Yet somehow, still hostile.
Am I the only one
Who notices untrue care
Like a mask on his face
Keeping his true thoughts secret?
A lot like my interior
Covered by it,
A mask in its right place
